As of now, Kahlil Nash the artist is set out to bring a vision into fruition that consists of bringing the old into the new. He is currently immersing himself in a bask of music with artists and bands like Prince, Michael Jackson, the Ramones, and Queen at the forefront. His expedition is far from over but he’ll soon be giving the world a taste of what he has to offer with his new untitled project, set to release in 2018.
While Kahlil is young, exploring life, discovering the trials and tribulations of the music industry, his musical curvature and playlist is nothing short of diverse. He draws in influences from seasoned artists like Prince to Michael Jackson to The 1975 and Ed Sheeran to name a few. Kahlil is addicted to the high of the live performance; He can be found performing at some of San Diego’s hot spots such as House of Blues and the Hard Rock Café in the heart of Gaslamp District, as well as cross-town performance venues like Queen Bee’s and the Irenic in the North Park area. To feed his creativity and need to perform, Kahlil often posts covers of songs he feels drawn to; posting covers of Panic at the Disco’s "Death Of A Bachelor", Prince’s "The Beautiful Ones", Childish Gambino’s "Redbone", and Ed Sheeran’s "Everything Has Changed." As a millennial, Kahlil is not overly concerned with social media, nor is he preoccupied with followers and likes. Kahlil is a musician whose main concern is to create authentic music that will resonate with anyone who’s willing to listen. Kahlil strives for greatness and works diligently to make it to the top while still maintaining the typical lifestyle of a young teenager.
Heavily influenced by musical theater, Kahlil’s new EP will take the listener on a journey by telling his story about his experience as a young adult. Seeing that Kahlil is independent, the project will highlight his talent as a producer, lyricist, engineer, and musician.
